Why interpreters join

Found by language pair, not luck

Solicitors search the panel by language pair. Your profile is built around the languages you interpret, the directions you work, your certifications and the regions you cover. List them accurately and the right cases reach you.

A flat, honest 10%. Keep 90%.

The firm pays your agreed fee with no markup. ExQlo takes a flat 10% on every booking. That’s it. No listing fee, no monthly subscription, no hidden deductions. You are the merchant of record: the firm pays you directly through Stripe.

A private, encrypted room for every booking

Each assignment opens its own scoped room, just you and the instructing firm. It carries the details you need: language pair, date and time, duration, in-person or remote, setting and location. You never see the wider case papers or the expert’s materials, and the firm only sees this thread.

How it works for you

  1. 1

    Apply

Fill in a short application: your language pairs, certifications, regions and experience.

  2. 2

    Reviewed and approved

The ExQlo team reviews every application. Once approved, your dashboard unlocks and your listing goes live in the panel.

  3. 3

    Get found by language pair

Solicitors search the panel by language. Keep your profile complete: a profile-strength indicator shows exactly what to add to appear for the right searches.

  4. 4

A booking is matched to you

When a firm instructs you, you receive a notification and your scoped interpreter room opens.

  5. 5

    Coordinate in your scoped room

Exchange messages with the firm in your private, encrypted room. All the booking logistics live in one place.

  6. 6

    Complete and get paid

The firm confirms completion and the agreed fee. Your net payment (90% of the fee) is paid into your own account on completion.

ExQlo is building its panel now. Matching is growing. Apply to be ready when the right work comes through.

A room for every booking, scoped to just you and the firm.

In the room

  • language pair
  • booking date and time
  • duration
  • in-person or remote
  • setting (court, police station, conference, assessment)
  • location

Not in the room

The expert’s report, the case papers, the fees on the wider matter. You see your booking. The firm sees this thread. Nothing else crosses over.

  • Messages arrive live.
  • The room closes to new messages once the booking is completed or cancelled.
  • Your room is private and encrypted. Access is scoped to the booking participants: you and the firm. No one else can read your conversation.

One flat fee. No surprises.

  • ExQlo charges a flat 10% commission on every booking, including Legal Aid cases. You keep 90%.
  • The firm pays your agreed fee with no markup. ExQlo’s commission is deducted from your payout; you never invoice separately for the platform fee.
  • No listing fees. No subscription. Nothing to pay to join.
  • You are the merchant of record. The firm pays you through Stripe, and you receive your net amount after each completed booking.

Worked example: A £500 booking: the firm pays £500, you receive £450, ExQlo’s fee is £50.

Legal Aid note: Unlike expert witnesses, who pay no commission on Legal Aid, interpreters pay the flat 10% on all routes. This is stated plainly on your wallet dashboard.

Trust and vetting

  • A member of the ExQlo team reviews every application before your listing goes live.
  • We check your certifications and language pairs during the review. DPSI, NRPSI, RPSI and police-approved credentials are all recognised.
  • Your data is stored securely in the UK/EU (Supabase EU, Vercel London).
  • Your interpreter room is private and scoped. You only ever see the bookings assigned to you.
